Vrieseas are very popular for their spectacular and long-lasting flower spikes. Incas, Aztecs and Mayans used almost every part of the plant for food, shelter, fibres and ceremonies. As a result, the Bromeliad is viewed as a 'gift from the gods' in these countries. As a houseplant, Bromeliad represents 'protection': a reference to the full, green foliage that surrounds the beautiful coloured part.

1. Use a clean pot that has holes in the bottom. 2. Check every few days and add some water when it is required. 3. Be careful to not over water your plant. 4. Remove any dead lor fallen leaves as soon as possible. 5. Place your plant near a good source of natural light(not direct light for houseplants). 6. Temperature between 15-21°C is ideal for your plants.
