With over a hundred items in your shop, manually adding and updating product cards can feel tedious and inefficient. Using a feed can simplify this task and enhance your workflow when managing large volumes of products.

What Is the Feed About, and Who Might Find It Helpful?
The feed is a file that contains detailed information about items, including their features, images, and other specifications, and is commonly used to upload product cards on various well-known marketplaces.
On Flowwow, you can upload files in XML format, a popular choice for its seamless export from e-commerce websites or CRM systems. The feed appears as a series of HTML tags.

You can also set up auto-update for your storefront, ensuring that your product availability is automatically refreshed. This feature synchronises with your website or CRM system, keeping your Flowwow shop profile consistently up to date with the latest stock information.
This tool is ideal for sellers with large inventories. If your Flowwow shop lists no more than 20-30 items, manual updates are quicker and more straightforward.
How to Create and Upload an XML File
Typically, there's no need to manually create a feed file, as it’s already available on your website or within your CRM system. Simply download it yourself or with assistance from your e-commerce website administrator.
After downloading, ensure that the XML file meets all necessary requirements. Then, upload it to your Flowwow Seller account by navigating to the ‘Items’ section, clicking on the three dots in the top right corner, and selecting ‘Item Import via XML.’

To set up auto-update for your storefront, click on the cogwheel button next to an already uploaded feed file and choose the update frequency that best suits your needs.

Requirements for XML Files
To ensure proper uploads, files must contain the mandatory parameters. You can also include optional parameters to add more details about your items.
Mandatory parameters:
- Product name: ‘name’
- Tags: ‘offer’ or ‘product’ (for the item itself)
- Link to the photo of the product: ‘picture’
- Price: ‘price’
- Description of the product: ‘description’
Additional parameters:
- Stock Availability (to specify the number of items in stock): ‘qty’
- Previous price (if you wish to highlight the price as discounted): ‘oldprice’
- Minimum order: ‘minorder’
- Composition of the product: ‘consist name’
- Weight (derived from the item’s name or description and available via a separate tag): ‘weight’
- Product size: ‘param name’
Furthermore, consider the following tips:
- For items with multiple photos, add each link as a separate parameter
- Only upload active listings and available items through the feed to keep your catalogue organised

Requirements for Flower Shop Feed Files
There are two ways for flower shops to upload a feed file (note that the composition must be included as a mandatory parameter for bouquets).
The optimal approach: Use the ‘consist name’ tag to input bouquet details into the feed. If the categories in your feed file closely align with Flowwow subcategories (such as Flowers in a Box or Florist’s Specials), you can upload the file and map them accordingly.
If the categories in your feed file do not align with Flowwow subcategories (e.g., Bouquets for Mum, Bouquets for a Girlfriend), they may still include arrangements like sweet bouquets, florist’s specials, or other offerings similar to the Flowwow subcategories. You can associate each of your categories with a Flowwow subcategory, but after uploading the feed, ensure you carefully review the entries and correct any mismatches.
The more challenging approach: If you choose not to include bouquet composition in the feed file, you can upload these items under the Flowers & Gifts category, using the Other subcategory. However, this approach involves a significant manual effort to correctly assign items to their subcategories and specify their composition.
In Summary
As your assortment expands, adding items manually can become overwhelming. Simplify your workflow by importing products through a feed file – an efficient way to automate the process. To ensure a smooth start, consider collaborating with developers or marketing professionals experienced in handling feed files.
