Why Good Photos Matter

High-quality product images can make a whole difference when promoting your items and attracting new customers. When shopping online, customers can’t get a feel for the products, so it’s crucial to showcase all the benefits through photos and videos. Remember: the better your content, the more likely you are to get an order.

How to create a product card that is sure to catch the eye?

  1. Find out what you can’t sell on Flowwow
  2. Take great product photos, whether with your phone or a professional camera
  3. Add your photos, descriptions, and item details, using the Flowwow app or the web platform
  4. View your listing as a customer

We’ll dive deeper into each point below — let’s dive in!

Basic Content Rules for Our Sellers

What definitely won’t pass moderation on Flowwow:

  1. Labels of well-known brands and replicas
  2. Alcohol as a standalone product (not in a gift set)  — please check with support for country-specific regulations
  3. Tobacco
  4. Fireworks
  5. 18+ Items
  6. Weapons
  7. Political Symbols — exception made for the images of national flags as decoration
  8. Violence-Related Content

Content Requirements for Successful Moderation

Photos:

  1. Up to 10 photos, each at least 1200x1200 pixels
  2. One product per photo — no side-by-side variations (more on this later)
  3. Original photo and video content — no copyright materials allowed
  4. Clear, focused, well-lit images
  5. No cropped products
  6. Real, neutral background with no distracting details — no floor or pavement shots
  7. Various angles, including close-ups and side shots; featuring models and props is encouraged
  8. No contact details (phone number, address, email, social media links) directly on the image — they are for the product description

Videos:

  1. Vertical shot
  2. Up to 30 seconds
  3. No more than 100MB

Please note: it will be automatically cropped to a 1:1 format when uploaded

Photo and Video Description:

  1. Description must match the image: if the picture shows a bouquet of 50 red roses, the text should reflect that
  2. It’s important to fill in all the information such as Item name, Description, Composition, Weight, and Production time

Lighting

Good lighting helps customers see the product better: shoot in natural daylight to avoid shadows or glare. A lightbox can be used for product photography.

Clarity

A blurry image or a shaky video is a turn-off — put yourself in customers’ shoes: if the seller can’t take a good photo, what to expect from the order?

Background

Your product image must have a neutral background. Light colours, like shades of grey and cream, are ideal — however, it’s best to avoid pure white. If you need to photograph a transparent object, you can use a contrasting dark background. Photos of products in natural settings are also acceptable, but ensure the background doesn’t distract from the item.

Visual and Textual Alignment

If a product is titled ‘Candle’, the image must show a candle, not a diffuser. If the card states the colour is ‘dark blue’, the image should feature dark blue, not black or turquoise. Similarly, if the photo shows nine pink peonies, the title and description need to match.

One Product per Photo

Don’t show different variations of the same product in one photo — for example, avoid displaying different colour options for the same balloon set in a single shot. Additional items in the frame can confuse customers and make it unclear what you’re actually selling.

Cropping

Please ensure the entire product is visible in every image. A full-scale view of the item allows customers to understand its real size.

Retouching and Filters

While minor adjustments to colour and lighting are okay, please avoid heavy filters or retouching that might distort the product’s appearance. It’s crucial for a successful sale that customers can accurately perceive the product’s colour palette before they make a purchase.

Watermarks

Photos and videos containing watermarks, links, or shop details will not pass moderation.

Generated Background

As we mentioned before, a simple background is always a win. With a fake one, customers will spot the editing straight away and may question the authenticity of the product altogether — these doubts are definitely not going to help sales.

◾The main photo shows the entire product, while the others feature different angles and a close-up
◾The card clearly states the name, price, discount (if applicable), and characteristics (like weight, size, and minimum order quantity) of the product
Pro tip: Fill in the description and composition using the Write with AI tool
  6. Click ‘Create’

To add a product card in the web version, open the Flowwow website, log into your account with the phone number, go to Items and tap ‘Create an item’. Then continue with the step-by-step guide from above.

How a Product Card Works on Flowwow

Each product card on Flowwow consists of two parts — a textual one and a visual one:

  1. The text includes the product name and description. Please note that each category has its own requirements.
  2. For more detailed information on filling out the textual part, check out our article on SEO
  3. The visual part is a gallery that includes the main photo (displayed first in the card and the catalogue), additional photos (up to 6, with 5 different angles), and a video

Below you can see how your product card will look to Flowwow customers.
